Rustic. Somewhat reminiscent of Rock Ridge before the train came through town. John The Revelator was the first steer out of the pen today and was accompanied by Banks Of The Deep End which was a large and impressive as a stud bull. Slow Happy Boys was the perfect accompaniment to the rolling hills and and beautiful big sky that surrounded us in all its verdant splendor while Take Me To The River was a surprise addition to the set list that made both band and crowd exuberant.

Set Two was obviously mined from the same vein as its predecessor. Child Of The Earth and Patchwork Quilt were the first two songs proffered, but Time To Confess ramped up the energy into a finger blistering, throat scorching rendition of Robert Johnson's If I Had Possession Over Judgment Day. Meandering out of Drums, all of a sudden we found ourselves headed Into The Mystic where you can Lay Your Burden Down beside a beautiful Streamline Woman who just might be your Brand New Angel. For the third night in a row, two encore songs were played. Tonight's pair were both old blues standards: Hurts Me Too and Gonna Send You Back To Georgia. Why do they call it the 'blues' if it makes you feel so good?
